Dr John Kirk will be leading our first Winter Talk on ' Creating and rearing Queen bees from your selected hive'.
This talk will be followed by tea, cake and informal chats.

Clare Densley and Martin Hann, from the Buckfast Abbey Bee Department will be talking about 'Preparing for Spring'.

Maintenance Day
We will be doing lots of maintenance jobs around our site to get it ready for the new season ahead.
Please bring workclothes and tools.

Opening of apiary
Depending on the weather, we will open our apiary for weekly inspections on Saturday afternoons.

Summer Social
We will have a BBQ in our paddock area. Please bring chairs, food to cook on the firepit, drink and some food to share: thank you!
Sleepovers in tents or campervans very welcome!

Friday 15th and Saturday 16th August
Extraction days
Tuesday 12th: Clearing Boards onto the hives;
Thursday 14th: Clubhouse preparation;
Friday 15th (starting early!) and Saturday 16th: Club followed by members' honey extraction;
The clubhouse will then remain 'extraction ready' for a week for members to extract their own honey in their own time - please contact a member of the committee for further information about this.
Tuesday 26th at 1700: clubhouse cleaning!

Apiary Autumn Maintenance
This will be time to maintain our beekeeping equipment at the end of the season.
Please bring workclothes and tools.
Tea / coffee and cakes will be provided!
